W.E. Girls Inc. Team

Sharsyea’ Abram (Shay)- Founder

I am the Founder of Women Empowering Girls (W.E.) Girls Incorporated. I am global citizen hailing from Oakland, California with character stamps from Ghana, United Kingdom, South Africa, Mozambique and eSwatini (Swaziland). I hold a Master of Arts in International Relations, University of Essex and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, San Francisco State University and a Minor in African Studies. My passion for service, culture, education and friendship has led me to serve as a Peace Corps Volunteer for in South Africa (2016-2018) and eSwatini (Swaziland- 2019-2020). As a lifelong volunteer, educator and international development practitioner, I have been fortunate to live my passions and turn my dreams into reality which led to the birth of W.E Girls. I am excited about impacting our adolescent girls in Oakland, Ghana and South Africa and beyond; mitigating circumstances that prevent our girls from reaching their goals, becoming model citizens and role models or turning their dreams into reality. I am especially, exited to promote STEM and equip our goals with the knowledge, skills, attitude and experience that can potentially lead to a meaningful, purposeful life. Ecstatic to embark on the journey, galivant around the world and connect cultures, through sisterhood, culture and education. “I am, because we are.”

If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.”
